An Inconvenient Truth:  A Global Warning       – HUGE Success!

                                           By Cherie Barth

The Beta Gamma Epsilon Chapter was notified of a terrific opportunity by the Climate Challenge organization to offer a free showing of An Inconvenient Truth:  A Global Warning. The officers jumped on this opportunity and ran with it since it directly relates to our International Service Project – Operation Green:  Improving our Communities!

In a matter of a couple of weeks, messages were sent to the students, faculty and staff and flyers were posted to promote this event. The documentary was shown on February 1 at 1:00 and 6:00 in the Silk Auditorium during the Campus Climate Challenge week – January 29-February 2, 2007.

Approximately 50 people viewed this documentary, narrated by former Vice President, Al Gore. The information was not all gloom and doom about Global Warming, but it did make you stop and think. Gore not only listed the facts he also offered solutions. Over the next year, Beta Gamma Epsilon will do its part in helping the Global Warming situation with projects within the college community as well as the Stark County community. We encourage you to join us in our efforts to make a difference!
