Provost/Chief Academic Officer

Description: Stark State College of Technology is a two-year associate degree college within the University System of Ohio. Stark State College is one of the fastest growing two-year colleges in the state as well as in the nation. Three years ago the College enrolled 7,000 credit students; it currently enrolls 8,500 credit students in 49 degree programs and 14 certificate programs.

The Provost/Chief Academic Officer is the administrator in charge of the Division of Academic Affairs and is accountable directly to the President. The primary responsibilities of the position are to assure that available resources are maximized to meet the College mission; to see to it that adequate planning occurs; to support the functions of teaching and learning; to offer continuous professional development for faculty to maintain currency; to support viable programming leading to degree and certificate programs; and to assess learning outcomes and support continuous improvement processes.

The Provost provides leadership and direction to all academic functions of the College, including the learning support services necessary to assure student success. This requires collaboration with business, industry, and community agencies to assure that the current and future workforce needs of the region are addressed by College programming.

Requirements:
Stark State College of Technology seeks candidates with a collaborative spirit, entrepreneurial drive, and the capability of managing growth, ensuring quality, nurturing shared governance, and with a manifest commitment to diversity, social equity, and student success. Candidates must have an earned doctorate from a regionally-accredited college or university, demonstrated teaching experience at a college or university, at least 5 years of progressively responsible management experience in a college or university, and at least 3 years of experience in a technical or community college.
