Description: The primary role of this position is to systematically and consistently provide learning support services to students in a positive and efficient delivery process by serving as an academic tutor. The learning support services include one-on-one and group tutoring sessions with students in a non-directive, facilitative approach; assisting with computer-based, academic tutorials; assisting students with comprehension of course subject matter; conducting workshops on study skills and techniques to show students how to be more successful academically; developing aids to assist students with subject understanding; and providing some administrative assistance to the tutoring center.
Requirements: Bachelors’ degree in one of the following: Mathematics, Physics, English, Communications, Biology, Chemistry, or a directly related field. Master’s degree preferred. Knowledge of and experience with various tutoring strategies or programs. Minimum of two years of one-on-one and group tutoring experience preferred, including experience impacting education attainment amongst diverse student populations.
