Description: This Full time position is a self-directed position that grows the Digital Library Resource Center on the Stark State campus. Duties include: assisting with the design of library instruction, information and library computer literacy initiatives; provides virtual reference desk services to both students and faculty; development of both paper and web-based teaching materials that will address various learning styles and be accessible to both on-campus and distance learning students; providing technology support and instruction in the use of the library and its resources to students, staff and faculty; collaboration with classroom faculty in shaping course assignments, designing research instruction and building curriculum-supporting virtual library collections; marketing to assist in web-related activities; collaboration with student support services; performance of liaison duties with academic departments and engagement in other activities on and off campus as appropriate to Stark State College; serve as liaison between Stark State College, Kent State University Stark Campus, other partner institutions and related organizations.
Requirements: Master's degree in Library or Information Science and a minimum of 3 years of experience in a college library. Must have a working knowledge of current trends in information and computer literacy; digital library technologies and web-related applications; and experience with electronic databases internet resources, library catalogs, and reference tools. Must have knowledge of information literacy curriculum integration with teaching experience and a working knowledge of current trends in library information and library computer literacy. Must be able to work and collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, faculty and staff. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work independently and as a team member are essential. Requires experience promoting and marketing library information literacy to diverse college populations.
