INSTRUCTOR of Industrial Technology (HVAC)

JOB CATEGORY Instruction

Description: Full-time, 180-day contract position beginning spring of 2010. Prepare and deliver high quality day, evening and/or weekend course instruction at main and/or satellite campuses or on the web in HVAC/R Technology. Responsibilities include traditional and online course development and facilitation; academic advising; and research and development of potential certificate and/or program offerings. Promote the HVAC/R Technology programs to local high schools, businesses, and industry. Actively participate in the advisory committee to ensure academic program relevance at a state and national level. Participation on division and college committees; professional development opportunities; marketing of programs, articulation with other colleges; and other duties as assigned by the department. Support quality improvement in the department and the College.

This position focuses on Instruction of heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and refrigeration principles and applications from the basics to the advanced courses in all areas of both residential and commercial applications.

Requirements: Bachelors degree required and a minimum five years field HVAC/R experience and/or equivalent classroom experience. HVAC Journeyman or equivalent with experience in both commercial and residential equipment and installation. Troubleshooting skills are a must. Good communication and presentation skills are required. Proficiency in MS Office software.
