Description: Full-time, 180-day contract position beginning spring of 2010. Prepare and deliver high quality day, evening and/or weekend course instruction at main and/or satellite campuses or on the web in Chemistry. Responsibilities include traditional and online course development and facilitation, academic advising, and research and development of potential certificate and/or program offerings. Assist with the development and enhancement of E-learning based chemistry offerings; act as a supporting faculty member for the Fuel Cell and/or Biotechnology and Computational Science Education programs. Participation on division and college committees; professional development opportunities; marketing of programs, articulation with other colleges and other duties as assigned by the department. Support quality improvement in the department and the College.
Requirements: Masters Degree in chemistry or chemical engineering with a Ph.D. preferred. Must have experience in college level teaching of chemistry with associated laboratory and/or applied chemistry. Experience in web teaching, course design and cutting edge technologies related to chemistry is an advantage. Applicant must have excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills along with the ability to use technology that includes MS Office and Internet programs. An enthusiasm for teaching along with professional development is highly valued.
