Stark State College Facts:
- Stark State is the
largest college in Stark County and the largest technical college in
Ohio.
- Over 8,500 credit
students; approximately 4,000 non-credit students.
- Stark State’s low
tuition makes our College one of the most affordable in the region.
- Stark State offers
48 associate degree programs in the areas of business technologies,
engineering technologies, health technologies, information
technologies, public service technologies and general studies. In
addition, the College offers 11 one-year certificate programs
approved by the Ohio Board of Regents.
- In addition to
associate degrees, the transfer module guarantees the transfer of 37
to 39 semester hours of Stark State coursework to any Ohio public
college or university. Many students and parents take advantage of
this cost-effective approach to a four-year degree program.
- Stark State College
maintains satellite centers
in Alliance, Downtown Canton, Carrollton, Navarre and
Uniontown/Hartville to better serve our students. Each site offers
students the same convenience, affordability, quality faculty and
individualized attention as our main campus.
- Thanks to
partnerships with Franklin University and The University of Toledo,
Stark State students may earn a bachelor’s degree without leaving
Stark State’s campus. In addition,
articulation agreements
are in place with other many other college and universities to
assist students in completing their four-year degrees after earning
their associate degrees at Stark State.
- Each year, about 93%
of Stark State's graduates are employed upon graduation.
- Approximately 90% of
our graduates live and work in the community.
- Stark State works
closely with business and industry to ensure that the programs we
offer meet the needs of a developing workforce.
- Approximately 76% of
our students work while attending Stark State. Accessibility and
flexible scheduling make it convenient for working people to pursue
an education at Stark State.
- Stark State is
accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and a member of the
North Central Association of Colleges and Schools - the same
organization that accredits all other colleges and universities in
our region. In addition, many of Stark State's programs maintain
individual accreditations from their national accrediting
associations.
- Stark State College,
in partnership with the Stark County College Tech Prep Consortium,
participates in articulation agreements with nearly 40 programs in
high schools throughout the county.
