The associate of arts degree in communication offers an excellent foundation for students who want to pursue the study of communication. Students gain knowledge and skills that are applicable to almost any work environment, such as public speaking, interpersonal communication and communication theory. Most students continue their studies in a bachelor’s degree program in communication and pursue careers in a related field. A student graduating with an AA in communication could seek immediate employment in a variety of fields including business, training and development, advertising, corporate communications, government and politics and broadcasting, to name a few.
The AA-communication degree requires a minimum of 60 credit hours. All students must earn the minimum credit subtotal in English composition, social and behavioral sciences, arts and humanities, sciences, and mathematics.
For additional information about the AA-communication degree, contact Dr. Wendi Battershell at 330-966-5457, ext. 4958 or wbattershell@starkstate.edu.
