The Associate of Science in Education degree is designed to give students who wish to obtain Ohio Teacher Licensure for Middle Childhood Education with a major and minor area of concentration, or for Adolescence-Early Adult Education Licensure in Integrated Language Arts, Social Studies, Math, or Science, an option to complete the first two years at Stark State College and transfer to a four year institution to complete the bachelor’s degree in education for teacher licensure.
A minimum of 60 credits are required for the Associate of Science in Education degree. Students must earn the minimum credit subtotal in English, Social and Behavioral Sciences, Arts and Humanities, and Science and Mathematics. Students are strongly encouraged to meet with the bachelor degree institution for area of concentration requirements to aid in the in the selection and transfer of elective courses needed to complete the degree.
