The GM STC
courses are modular courses. The information contained in each modularized
class is an integral part of one of the courses in the comprehensive
automotive technology program or the GM ASEP program. These courses can be
taken as electives by students enrolled in the comprehensive automotive
technology program. However, students must have permission from the GM
STC instructor, automotive programs coordinator, or automotive department
chair. Students that elect to take the GM STC modular courses without
taking the comprehensive classes can receive credit for selected classes
within the comprehensive automotive technology program upon completion of
all of the modules related to a given class.
The GM STC
modular courses are designed for students who are seeking a career as
General Motors service technicians. The curriculum is produced as a joint
effort between Stark State College and General Motors. The curriculum
includes: computer based training, interactive distance learning, classroom
theory, and hands-on lab assignments.
Upon completion
of all of the GM STC modular courses, the student will achieve recognition
as a GM world class technician if they are employed by a GM dealership. |
