ASSOCIATE DEGREE GRADUATION INFORMATION

Graduation Application Deadlines

Deadlines are strictly enforced.
Late application process fee will apply for applications received after noted deadlines.

Applications can be obtained from the Academic Records/Registrar’s Office, the Information Desk in the Student Center and in all academic division offices.

GRADUATION APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  • Obtain a Graduation Application from the Academic Records/Registrar’s Office, the Information Desk in the Student Center and in all academic division offices.
  • Complete entire form printing legibly – be sure to fill out both forms (graduation application and cap/gown measurement information)
  • Return the form to the Academic Records/ Registrar’s Office.
  • When the graduation application has been approved, the appropriate fee will be added to your student account.
It is the graduating student’s responsibility to notify the College of his or her intent to graduate before the announced deadline.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

Candidates for graduation must satisfactorily complete the program in which they are enrolled and must have a minimum 2.0 GPA in their technical major with an accumulative GPA of 2.0.

A maximum of 30 semester hours of credit transferred from other institutions in accordance with Section 3.06.02 of the Policies and Procedures Manual may be used toward the completion of an associate degree at Stark State College of Technology. In the event more than 30 semester credit hours are to be transferred for this purpose, approval of the Provost will be required.

Graduation forms are available in the Registration Office, the Division Offices or the Reception Desk.

GRADUATION WITH ACADEMIC HONORS

Awards are offered for outstanding accomplishments to members of the graduation class.
  • Graduates attaining a cumulative GPA of 3.8 or higher will graduate with high distinction
  • Graduates attaining a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher will graduate with distinction
Questions regarding graduation should be directed to the Registrar.

GRADUATION IN ABSENTIA

Commencement exercises are part of the requirements for graduation unless a good cause is submitted to and approved by the Registrar.
