(North Canton, OH – June 26, 2009) – Stark State College will offer credit classes at GlenOak High School beginning August 24 through a newly-formed partnership with Plain Local Schools. A special event to “kick-off” Stark State’s Plain Satellite Center will be held July 7 at 6 p.m. in the GlenOak High School Theater and is open to the public. Information about admissions, financial aid and the fall class schedule will be available.

Stark State College President John O’Donnell and Plain Local Schools Superintendent Christopher Smith will speak about the partnership which addresses Gov. Ted Strickland’s 10-Year Strategic Plan for Higher Education to provide accessible, transferable education and degree completion programs to all Ohioans.

Classes taken at the satellite center lead to associate degrees offered at Stark State’s main campus in North Canton, as well as transfer opportunities to other colleges and universities. Stark State offers over 100 associate degrees, options and one-year certificates in business, general studies, health technologies, engineering technologies, information technologies and public services.
