Stark State College honors Spurlock and Lilly as
2007 distinguished faculty and staff

Dr. Linda Spurlock, assistant science professor, and Renee Lilly, counselor and admissions representative, have received the Stark State College 2006-2007 Distinguished Teacher Award and Staff Excellence Award, respectively.

Spurlock, a resident of Tallmadge, has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in anthropology from Binghamton University in Binghamton, NY, and a master’s degree in teaching and doctorate in biological anthropology from Kent State University. She has taught at Stark State since 2003 and previously held part-time positions at Kent State University, the University of Akron and the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine (NEOUCOM). Spurlock is a member of the College’s curriculum and aesthetics committees and serves as chairperson for the Institutional Review Board.

Lilly has a bachelor’s in education from Marshall University and a master’s in technical education from the University of Akron. A Canton resident, Lilly has been with Stark State since 1998 and serves on the Standards of Academic Progress Appeal Committee, Retention Success Team and the College’s Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP). She has also been an Interfaith Campus Ministry board member since 2004.
