EMS001BASIC EMT Credit HoursBASIC EMTEMS121BASIC MEDICAL TRAINING (EMT)5 Credit HoursThe EMT-Basic course provides theory and practical skills training for managing medical and traumatic situations and follows the objectives as listed in the Ohio Administrative Code. Basic Life Support certification is included. Observation time at an Emergency Facility or EMS Squad is required.EMS122PARAMEDIC I/SEMINAR Credit HoursThis course provides theory and skills at the EMT-Paramedic level for managing medical emergencies including patient assessment, medio-legal issues, airway management, fluid therapy and pharmacology, geriatric care and management of respiratory emergencies. In-hospital training and infield internship are included.Prerequisites: or EMS121, FST127 or BIO101, BIO127, BIO121EMS221PARAMEDIC II/SEMINAR Credit HoursThis course is a continuation of Paramedic I and includes theory and skills in the assessment and management of cardiac emergencies including rhythm interpretation and dysrhythmia treatment modalities as well as assessment and advanced management of trauma. Also included is management of obstetrical, neonatal and pediatric emergencies. In-hospital training and infield internship are included.EMS222PARAMEDIC III/SEMINAR4 Credit HoursSuccessful completion of this course provides opportunity for certification in Advanced or Basic Trauma Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support as well as additional critical care transport skills. This course is designed to prepare the student for National Registry Testing.
