Exploring New Wine Regions in North America
Join us for a tour of some of North America’s up-and-coming wine regions as we take an in-depth view of some wine trends in areas that are in many instances, within easy driving distance from where we live! We will first focus on wines found in our own back yard, Ohio. Learn how Ohio winemakers are determining how our regional-specific “terriors” are delivering opportunities to produce some very exciting wines from a variety of grape types. Next, we look to the east and examine what is happening with wines from New York state with a focus on the Finger Lakes Region where trial and error and oenology have begun to yield many award winning selections. Lastly, we head north to Canada where we will learn how our northern neighbors deal with cold climes and short growing seasons to produce wines of great character and growing repute.
