Orientation to Fitness Training
This FREE one-hour personal fitness training orientation is designed to provide information for anyone interested in the fitness profession or in becoming a fitness trainer. This lecture includes a brief overview of the industry and professional trends while allowing ample time for a question and answer session. Topics include personal training, group exercise, senior fitness, children’s fitness and aqua fitness.

Personal Trainer National Certification
World Instructor Training SchoolsCome join this fun profession and be a part of what Fortune Magazine and ABC NEWS.com call the fourth hottest job in the U.S. at a national average of $34 an hour. Whether a career move or for your own personal knowledge get all the information you need to become a certified personal trainer. This challenging course is taught over a 8-week period for better retention and skill competency. The national exam is held on the ninth week. This course is formatted as a 62-hour program and is comprised of 16 hours of lecture, 16 hours of hands on practical training and a 30-hour internship that networks many graduates right into a job. The course prepares you for success with key topics that include biomechanics, exercise physiology, fitness testing, equipment usage and health assessment. CPR/AED is needed to receive the certificate. W.I.T.S. is the only major certifying body in the country providing comprehensive practical training and internship components. Textbook is required and not included in course fees.

The American Council on Education has recommended three undergraduate academic credits for this course.

Nutritional Concepts for Fitness Professionals
Learn how to educate your clients about the relationship between caloric intake, caloric burn, weight loss, weight gain and body fat percentages through nutritional awareness. Discuss the pros and cons of popular diets, the health effects of some common drugs and nutritional supplements. (Qualifies for six continuing education credits for personal trainers and fitness professionals.)

Line Dancing
Dance your way to better health. Join popular dance instructor Frank Trace as he introduces you to the wonderful world of line dancing. The first hour is geared to the beginner line dancer. The second hour will be geared to the more experienced line dancer. Dances are taught slowly with plenty of review. This is a fun, energetic class for men and women of all ages and a great way to meet new friends. Senior citizen discount does not apply.

Ballroom Dancing
If the stars can do it, so can you! The six-class series of beginner ballroom dance classes will cover rhythm, the character of the dance, basic technique, and simple patterns of cha cha and swing (jitterbug). No previous dance experience is necessary. Singles and couples are welcome to attend. Ballroom dancing is an excellent form of weight-bearing exercise and is socially beneficial and mentally stimulating. Have some fun and learn to dance like a star at weddings, clubs and other dances!

Yoga for Harmony of Body, Mind and Spirit
Bring harmony to your mind, body and spirit through stretching yoga poses, relaxation and guided breathing. Yoga postures will awaken your strength, improve flexibility, and enhance balance and endurance while reducing stress. All levels are welcome. Bring a yoga mat and water bottle and wear comfortable clothing. You should only eat a light meal 3-4 hours before yoga.

Soothing to the mind, body and spirit, this restorative yoga class is an excellent way to balance out the stress of modern life. Students of every level can benefit from a calmer nervous system and the gradual deep opening this class provides. The class involves breath, meditation, body awareness, gentle stretching, relaxation and self-massage techniques. These are good classes for people suffering from physical injuries, limited range of motion or chronic health conditions such as arthritis or fibromyalgia. Classes are nurturing experiences for students who desire less of a physical challenge, but want to experience the benefits of linking the body and breath. Your body is revitalized by increasing circulation to the organs and calming the nervous system.

You’ll need to bring a yoga mat or large beach towel, two pillows, a blanket and water bottle. Wear comfortable clothing. Eat only a light meal 3 - 4 hours before yoga.
