Pharmacy Technician Training Program
This course is designed to prepare individuals who want to enter the pharmacy field in hospitals, home infusion pharmacies or retail pharmacies under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. When you complete this course you may register to take the pharmacy technician certification exam to become a Certified Pharmacy Technician. Key topics are

ICD-10 Update [ONLINE COURSE]
This online self-paced course will provide medical professionals who are already coding with an overview of the ICD-10 for both diagnosis and procedure coding. It covers the transition from ICD-9 to ICD-10 and reviews the changes and updates. You will learn the new codes, the structure, and nature of the characters. You will also learn how to use the appropriate reference manuals and guides to create diagnosis codes from the ICD-10-CM and procedure codes from the ICD-10-PCS. You will practice coding for a variety of purposes and settings. You can begin the course at any time and will have access to the course for six months.

Nurse Aide/Home Health Aide Training
This training program prepares you to function in a traditional nursing assistant role in nursing centers such as hospitals and nursing homes or as a home health aide in home settings. The course includes 16 hours of clinical training and 59 hours devoted to lecture and skills laboratory practice.
Some topics covered include

- basic elements of body functioning
- recognition of emergencies
- physical, emotional and developmental
- appropriate and safe techniques in personal needs of patients hygiene and grooming
Upon successful completion of the program, you’ll be eligible to take the nursing assistant state competency test or, you may choose to seek employment as a home health aide. Attendance policy in accordance with the Ohio Department of Health states no absenteeism is permitted within the first 16 hours of instruction. Foundations in Myofascial Release II
Myofascial Release (MFR) is an effective modality for the reduction of pain and the restoration of function and is accepted by the medical community and health insurers. Foundations seminars have moved MFR into a neurosciencebased format without reliance on pseudoscience. With an emphasis on hands-on learning, the therapist will be introduced to whole-body evaluation and treatment, reinforcing the key elements of MFR and manual therapy. You’ll better understand causes and elimination of pain. Advanced cervical, cranial, thoracic, lumbar, pelvic and upper/lower extremity techniques will be included. Prerequisite: None. Foundations II may be taken as an introductory seminar. All MFR seminars are 20 hour/2.5- days with 20 CE hours approved by NCBTMB and 16 CEUs approved for Ohio PTs, PTAs, OTs and COTAs. Other approvals may be available. Bring a massage table if possible and wear lab clothes appropriate for hands-on work.

Kinesio Taping I and II
This course is designed to introduce practitioners to the Kinesio taping method. It covers the five major physiological effects: skin, circulatory/lymphatic, fascia, muscle and joint. We also cover the six corrective techniques: mechanical, functional, space, fascia, ligament/tendon and lymphatic. You will have lab sessions to practice taping applications. Upon completion of the course, you will know how to use the Kinesio taping method to relax overused muscles, decrease pain and swelling and relieve orthopedic and neurological conditions. Wear lab clothes so that pelvic and shoulder areas are accessible. Bring a pair of scissors.

Treatment of Gait Dysfunction in Children with Cerebral Palsy and Related Disabilities
This course is designed for physical therapists and assistants who treat pediatric populations with cerebral palsy and related neuromuscular disorders. Emphasis will be placed on analyzing the normal muscle control and coordination during the gait cycle, evaluating abnormal gait, and applying treatment strategies to gain a more energy efficient gait pattern. Lab work will emphasize problem solving and hands-on treatment of other participants. The instructor will also treat two children with cerebral palsy in demonstrations (live and/or video recorded). Please wear shorts and t-shirt for labs.

This is not an evaluation course but a technique course, with a significant portion lab focused. With a limit of 20 participants, you’ll work in groups of two in lab (please wear appropriate lab clothing). Each participant will need to determine which techniques are appropriate for their individual discipline, practice setting and patient conditions.
