- Scopists are hired by court reporters to edit and proofread transcripts while the reporters work in court; an ideal career for a person who prefers to work at home.
The court reporting courses held on campus are offered in conjunction with the Web-based courses, reaching those students interested in learning the skill but unable to attend the campus because of family commitments, and/or time and travel constraints. Virtually anyone who has access to a computer with Windows software and hardware requirements will be able to take the program online, but the student will be required to have a computerized steno machine and court reporting student software before taking any online courses.
