Dual Enrollment

saves you time and money

Graduate from college sooner by earning college and high school credit at the same time. The college credits you earn now can be used to complete an associate of arts or associate of science degree at Stark State, which can then transfer to any Ohio public university towards a bachelor’s degree.

Qualified students attending one of our dual enrollment partner high schools can earn college credit prior to high school graduation (dual enrollment is also known as dual credit, concurrent enrollment or DE). Stark State offers dual enrollment at your high school, on our campus and online.

Dual enrollment students at the high school

  • are taught by high school faculty that meet college faculty requirements
  • use the college textbook, syllabus and course materials
  • follow Stark State's course objectives and learning outcomes
  • earn the same credit they would have earned at college if they successfully complete the course
  • should contact their high school guidance counselors for more information

Dual enrollment students on campus

  • are taught by college faculty
  • may attend class at the main campus or any satellite location
  • may take evening, weekend or online classes, if necessary
  • must attend an informational meeting; dates to be announced

Dual enrollment students online

  • are taught by college faculty with support from their high school
  • access classes online at high school and outside school hours
  • use the college textbook, syllabus and course materials
