QuickTime Player Test
This page tests whether the Apple QuickTime Player is installed on your computer.

A small QuickTime test movie should appear below. Once the movie loads, you may need to click on the play arrow: to start it. If the QuickTime Player is properly installed on your computer, you should end up with a movie and controller that looks something like the image to the right (Figure 1).

If you only get a box with a picture of a puzzle piece in the middle, you do not have the QuickTime Player. You only need to install the QuickTime Player if you are teaching or taking a course that uses it. If you wish to obtain the latest version, Download the QuickTime player and install it on your computer. When you have installed it, return to this page and try the test again.

What is QuickTime?
QuickTime is an application used to develop movie and sound files that can be displayed within a Web page. All modern browsers should have a QuickTime "helper file" or plug-in that automatically senses and displays a QuickTime file embedded in a Web page.
