Nurse Education Assistance Loan Program (NEALP) Loan
This is a state program for nursing students who, upon completion of their education, plan to practice nursing in the state of Ohio. The loan is based on financial need. After graduation, the student may be eligible for loan forgiveness at the rate of 20% per year and a maximum loan cancellation of 100%. Award amount: Up to $3,000 per year, which may be renewed for a maximum of four years and a total loan balance of $12,000.
Enrollment required: A minimum of 6 credit hours
2007-2008 Application: NEALP application forms are available in the Health Division Office Room 207 beginning January 1 and must be submitted by June 1, 2007 (for Fall 2007 semester) or November 1, 2007 (for Spring 2008 semester) to the Ohio Board of Regents. Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and submit the results as part of the application.
