Sanese Services is doing so much at Stark State and within the company. At Stark State they are sending used frying oil for conversion into vehicle fuel, donating unused food, giving discounts for using reusable mugs, and having several vegetarian options available on the menu. At headquarters and the branches they are doing even more to try to reduce waste and reduce Sanese’s carbon imprint.

Some of the things Sanese is doing at different locations vary by size and include:

  • Using recycled ink cartridges and paper
  • Turning off lights when offices are vacant
  • Printing on both sides to reduce paper waste
  • Separating waste from cardboard and saran wrap, which are recycled
  • Suggesting reusable china, mugs, and recyclable to go containers for every location
  • Using more efficient Energy Star vending equipment
  • Growing organic herbs and fresh food on-site
  • Composting materials to decrease waste going to landfills
  • Implementing tray-less dining to reduce waste in buffet environments
  • Recycle bottles, cans, plastic wrap, paper, and cardboard
  • Reduce Styrofoam and paper cups with the use of reusable mugs
  • Use phone conferences to reduce use of natural fuels, and therefore the carbon imprint, by reduce travelling
  • Using recyclable materials in vending machines
  • Check air pressure in delivery trucks to ensure highest gas mileage is achieved
  • Reuse motor oil, synthetic lubricants, and recycle tires
  • Restrict truck speeds to save fuel and have fewer emissions
  • Encourage driving techniques for fuel economy
  • Examine delivery routes to reroute and combine several routes
  • Convert to energy efficient light bulbs through 2011
  • Use fridge guard filter to remove excess moisture and cool faster
  • Utilize recycled motor oil to heat buildings
  • Donate / recycle cell phones and used office equipment to charity
  • Use local technicians rather than outsource services
  • Donate older vending machines and vehicles to charity
  • Refurbish old machine parts rather than sending to landfills
