Health and Human Services Division

Employment in the healthcare industry is projected to increase 22 percent through 2018, compared with 11 percent for all industries combined. For healthcare professionals, these statistics translate into more job options and better job security and stability. For example, over the next decade, total employment of home health aides is projected to increase by 50 percent, medical assistants by 34 percent and physical therapist assistants by 33 percent. Dentists also will use support personnel such as dental hygienists and assistants to help meet increased workloads.

As a health and human services student at Stark State, you’ll spend time in our classrooms and laboratories equipped with the latest technologies as you learn the techniques and skills of your chosen career. You’ll then work and learn in a professional, clinical setting to gain practical experience in your field under the supervision of a clinical instructor. Then, thanks to our quality programs, you’ll be among Stark State’s graduates who have a licensure passage rate among the highest in the state.

Practice in various healthcare fields requires specific physical skills and abilities.  Questions regarding physical requirements should be discussed with an admissions counselor or program coordinator of program interest.
