Judge Dixie Park to share her story as first woman elected probate judge in Stark County

Judge Dixie ParkJudge Dixie Park, the first woman elected judge of the probate division of the Stark County Court of Common Pleas, will share her journey on Monday, March 3 at 10 a.m. in Room M101.

Judge Park, an Alliance resident, graduated from Mount de Chantal Academy, received a bachelor's degree in integrated life sciences from Kent State University, and earned a juris doctorate from the University of Akron School of Law.

She served as a judicial clerk and then magistrate in the general division of the Stark County Court of Common Pleas, and also was an assistant law director for the City of Alliance and an acting judge in the Alliance Municipal Court. She was elected a council-at-large member for the City of Alliance in 2003 and took the bench in her current role in January of 2004.

Judge Park's presentation is part of Stark State's celebration of Women's History Month.
