Stark State College celebrates black women making (her)story

(North Canton, OH – Feb. 21, 2013) – Stark State College will host a week-long series in recognition of Black History Month. "Black Women Making (Her)story: Past, Present, and Future” will include

• Black Women: Defining Self, Defining Culture

• In Her Own Words: An Interactive Tour of Black Women Writers
  Tuesday, Feb. 25, noon, Room S201

• Fighting for Freedom: Black Women on Slavery and Women’s Rights
  Wednesday, Feb. 27, noon, Room S201

• Contributions to Psychology by African-Amerian Women and Groundbreaking Black Women in Science
  Thursday, Feb. 28, noon, Silk Auditorium

• Student Voices: A Celebratory Reception
  Friday, March 1, noon-2 p.m., Room 204/205; student performances, music, refreshments
