Stark State names new dean of health and human services

Daniel McDermott(North Canton, OH – Feb. 14, 2014) – Daniel McDermott has been named the new dean of health and human services at Stark State College.

McDermott, of Richfield, most recently served as associate dean of health careers and science at Cuyahoga Community College. His previous positions there include assistant dean of academic affairs, physician assistant program manager, and clinical coordinator of the physician assistant program.

He holds an associate degree in physician assistant studies from Cuyahoga Community College, a master’s degree in advanced physician assistant studies from A.T. Still University, and has taken courses toward a doctorate in higher education leadership at Northcentral University.

His clinical experience was earned at Allen Medical Center, Barberton Citizens Hospital, Kaiser Permanente and Acute Care Specialists.
