Stark State College, ShaleNET offer free welder’s helper training

(North Canton, OH – Dec. 10, 2012)– In response to demand from the area’s oil and gas industry, Stark State College is partnering with ShaleNET to offer a free welder’s helper training session.

Classes are scheduled for Feb. 4-28 at the College’s Corporate Services and Continuing Education Division, 265 E. Maple St. in North Canton. Training will include welding fundamentals, spill prevention and reporting, fall protection, natural gas basics and natural gas employability skills. Class members also will earn certificates in IADC Rig Pass – SafeLand, basic first aid/CPR, defensive driving, aerial work platform and rough terrain forklift.

Prior to enrolling in the training class, participants must attend a free information session Thursday, Jan. 3 at 3 p.m. in rooms N102/104 at the Hoover District Building, 265 E. Maple St., North Canton.
