(North Canton, OH – Sept. 27, 2012) – Stark State students Lorah Bailey and Dora Bucklew have been selected as two of just 20 students nationwide to receive the 2012 Frank Lanza Memorial Scholarship.

The $2,500 award recognizes the outstanding academic and leadership accomplishments of students enrolled in registered nursing, respiratory care or emergency medical services associate degree programs. Lorah, a nursing major from Kensington, is immediate past president of our Phi Theta Kappa chapter and Dora, a nursing major from Beach City, is its current president.

The scholarship is named in honor of Frank Lanza, founder of L-3 Communications, a global aerospace and defense company. The endowment is funded by L-3 Communications, CAE Healthcare, the American Association of Community Colleges and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
