Stark State College commencement set for Jan. 6

(North Canton, OH – Dec. 27, 2013) – Stark State College will hold commencement ceremonies for its December 2012 graduates at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6 at the Canton Memorial Civic Center.

More than 450 degrees will be awarded in business and entrepreneurial studies; education and human services; engineering, industrial and emerging technologies; health sciences; information technology; liberal arts; mathematics; and sciences.

Michael Gruich, DC, Stark State’s Distinguished Teacher for 2012, will be the commencement speaker. Dr. Gruich, an anatomy and physiology instructor at SSC, attended the University of Akron and received his chiropractic degree from Life Chiropractic College in Atlanta in 1988. For more than 20 years he has operated a chiropractic office in Fairlawn, Village Square Chiropractic. He has been an instructor at Stark State since 2008 and a full-time biology department faculty member since 2010. He and his family live in Wadsworth.

His commencement address is titled “To All Who Cross the Finish Line.”
