Stark State College hosts free tax help clinics

(North Canton, OH – Jan. 24, 2014) – Making tax time less taxing, Stark State College’s Enactus and Institute of Management Accountants clubs will again sponsor free tax preparation clinics for those who qualify.

The clinics are set for five Saturdays this spring, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Feb. 1 and 22, March 1 and 22 and April 12, all in rooms M104 and M105 in the Business and Entrepreneurial Studies Building on the campus at 6200 Frank Ave. NW in Jackson Township.

The filing assistance is part of the Internal Revenue Service’s VITA program, which offers free help to people who make $52,000 or less. IRS-certified volunteers provide free basic tax return preparation with electronic filing.

To schedule an appointment, call 330-994-8482 and request the Stark State tax clinic.

VITA Guidelines

Hello, I work for United Way with the VITA program and am a Stark State student. I wanted to make sure everyone knew that the income level is actually $65,000 (or less) or $95,000 (or less) if you are married filing joint.
