WHERE CAN YOU FIND ME: Downtown and Main Campus WC
WRITING SPECIALITIES: MLA, Organization, Personal Essays, Critical Analysis, Creative Writing
ABOUT ME: I received my BA in English from Baldwin-Wallace College, with minors in AYA Education and Political Science. I have loved writing ever since I won a limerick contest in the third grade ($100 for writing about Star Wars). In addition to writing and reading, I am a comic book junkie (superheros and everything else... I'm obsessed with Batman), cartoon/animation lover, and bona fide movie buff. I'm also a diehard metalhead, and attend concerts regularly (I appreciate lots of other music too, especially good old fashioned outlaw country). I enjoy spending time with my loved ones and have way more t-shirts than any human being ever needs.

JESS

WHERE CAN YOU FIND ME: Writing Center Online (ANGEL)
WRITING SPECIALITIES: I really enjoy and excel in helping with organization and thesis statements.  I have some different (but helpful) techniques that help students not only work on the paper they have brought to the Writing Center, but skills they are able to take with them and use with other writing assignments.
ABOUT ME: I’d like to say that I’m relatively boring.  I live in Kent with my boyfriend and my pit-bull mix.  I love to read and browse through anything from the classics to comics.  The English language fascinates me, and I enjoy working with people in any type of setting.

ABOUT ME: When I'm not tutoring, I create and edit content for a wide range of businesses, including those in legal, retail, and healthcare industries. I enjoy reading about self-sustained farming, learning how to not burn the house down while cooking, and watching Supernatural. If I ever met a genie in a lamp, citation generators and the idea that commas are pauses would be gone forever.

RACHEL

WHERE CAN YOU FIND ME: Main Campus WC
WRITING SPECIALITIES:
Brainstorming, MLA, Organization, Critical Analysis, Research Papers, Personal Narrative
ABOUT ME:
After years of working various jobs, I returned to school and eventually received my undergraduate degree in English with a minor in Environmental Studies. I attempted at all turns to incorporate everything from psychology to quantum mechanics to mysticism into my work and spent even unconscious hours hunting for connections between theories/ideas. Writing essays and presenting papers at conferences is one of my favorite academe-related activities, but my ultimate goal and passion, aside from reading esoteric texts, is to teach. I find people and life overall to be fascinating, and I try, even when it seems impossible, to seek out the awe of existance. I have over twenty diaries spanning over twenty-two years of my life, and eighteen of them have been filled in the past seven years. In my free time I read, write, hike, bike, drum, exercise, dance, keep up some kind of nightlife, try to break routines, watch sunsets, watch movies, and more. i do not watch television. I have an ultra-empathetic dog whom I made sure to train off leash with only love and trust so she can always experience the feeling of freedom. I hope I'm never too old to climb and hug trees or dance with headphones on.

ROB

WHERE CAN YOU FIND ME: Main Campus WC
WRITING SPECIALITIES: College Writing courses, Business and Technical Writing, and Working with ESL students
ABOUT ME: I have a special connection with ESL students.  I myself did not learn English as my first language.  My parents are immigrants from the former Yugoslavia and didn’t speak a word of English.  I wound up learning English on the streets of Chicago and in school.  I’m a huge soccer and hockey fan, but I doubt I could name a dozen NFL or NBA teams.  I also love all things nerd, especially anything zombie related.  I collect Conan and Thor comic books, oddball t-shirts, and beer steins.

Sandy DentSANDY

WHERE CAN YOU FIND ME: Main Campus WC
WRITING SPECIALITIES: Brainstorming is my favorite and the one I feel most accomplished. I do well with Socratic questioning.
ABOUT ME: I'm enjoying the re-awakening of cooking, family get togethers, and watching my "boys" (dogs) Bub and Jeb play football in the house.  My suggestion is, never buy a football dog toy with a squeaky in it—unless earplugs are available.
I enjoy political debates, arguments, discussions, etc. and the look on a tutorial client's face when they first realize their writing has meaning and importance.  This is the best reason for remaining a tutor.

STEVEN

WHERE CAN YOU FIND ME: Downtown and Main Campus WC
WRITING SPECIALITIES: Research and Documentation (MLA, CMS, APA), Philosophy, Interdisciplinary Essays, Short Stories, Poetry
ABOUT ME: I enjoy reading, art, music, food, coffee, writing, thinking... but especially enjoy being exposed to and learning about new things -- any things. I am most grateful for meeting a few unique and amazing people in my life, followed closely by the library I have amassed over the past ten years (thank you Stark County Library book sales!). I graduated from Walsh University with a B.A. in English and minors in Philosophy and Theology.
