WRITING SPECIALITIES: MLA, Organization, Personal Essays, Critical Analysis, Creative Writing
ABOUT ME: I received my BA in English from Baldwin-Wallace College, with minors in AYA Education and Political Science. I have loved writing ever since I won a limerick contest in the third grade ($100 for writing about Star Wars). In addition to writing and reading, I am a comic book junkie (superheros and everything else... I'm obsessed with Batman), cartoon/animation lover, and bona fide movie buff. I'm also a diehard metalhead, and attend concerts regularly (I appreciate lots of other music too, especially good old fashioned outlaw country). I enjoy spending time with my loved ones and have way more t-shirts than any human being ever needs.

WRITING SPECIALITIES: I really enjoy and excel in helping with organization and thesis statements. I have some different (but helpful) techniques that help students not only work on the paper they have brought to the Writing Center, but skills they are able to take with them and use with other writing assignments.
ABOUT ME: I’d like to say that I’m relatively boring. I live in Kent with my boyfriend and my pit-bull mix. I love to read and browse through anything from the classics to comics. The English language fascinates me, and I enjoy working with people in any type of setting.

WRITING SPECIALITIES: I wouldn’t say I have any one particular area of writing specialization. However, I am interested in how students receive and implement feedback regarding assignments and the role writing centers can play in this situation.
ABOUT ME: I was born in Spain because my Dad was a military pilot. I did a study abroad term to Oxford, England. I take fantasy football a little too seriously. I drink entirely too much coffee.
KELLY K.
WHERE CAN YOU FIND ME: Main Campus WC
WRITING SPECIALITIES: Although I am called the "Grammar Police," I am very good at reaching those students who are struggling to get started in their writing process. Helping students to discover what parts of the writing process work for them is very rewarding for me.
ABOUT ME: I love spending time with my three adopted children and husband. We enjoy going camping, fishing, and most especially, shopping! In my private time, which is limited, I love to read and play games on the computer. I am currently going to school to receive my second Master's degree.

ABOUT ME: I have an undergrad degree in philosophy with a minor in psychology, and I am still a dedicated student of history and philosophy. I am especially interested in Estern philosophy, postmodernism, and the work of Nietzsche. I recently received my graduate degree in Composition from The University of Akron. I enjoy playing music (I play the drums), writing poetry, hanging out with my wife and daughter (and our 2 cats)and studying martial arts. I studied Shaolin Kung Fu for 6 years and am now studying MMA. If a career in the UFC doesn't pan out, I plan on using my martial talents in the forthcoming zombie apocalypse.
ROB
WHERE CAN YOU FIND ME: Main Campus WC
WRITING SPECIALITIES: College Writing courses, Business and Technical Writing, and Working with ESL students
ABOUT ME: I have a special connection with ESL students. I myself did not learn English as my first language. My parents are immigrants from the former Yugoslavia and didn’t speak a word of English. I wound up learning English on the streets of Chicago and in school. I’m a huge soccer and hockey fan, but I doubt I could name a dozen NFL or NBA teams. I also love all things nerd, especially anything zombie related. I collect Conan and Thor comic books, oddball t-shirts, and beer steins.
SANDY
WHERE CAN YOU FIND ME: Main Campus WC
WRITING SPECIALITIES: Brainstorming is my favorite and the one I feel most accomplished. I do well with Socratic questioning.
ABOUT ME: I'm enjoying the re-awakening of cooking, family get togethers, and watching my "boys" (dogs) Bub and Jeb play football in the house. My suggestion is, never buy a football dog toy with a squeaky in it—unless earplugs are available.
I enjoy political debates, arguments, discussions, etc. and the look on a tutorial client's face when they first realize their writing has meaning and importance. This is the best reason for remaining a tutor.

SHAWN
WHERE CAN YOU FIND ME: Main Campus WC
WRITING SPECIALITIES: Brainstorming, Structural, Transitions, Grammar, and Spelling.
ABOUT ME: I have several interests thanks to my OCD (haha)! I have a very strong love of music, reading (of course), and film. I collect vintage paperbacks, pin-up art, pulp art, and toys. I’m basically a pop culture junkie. A large portion of my record collection is for the jackets themselves, but I also have 50’s Rock N Roll artists and (early 20’s-60’s) female vocalists. I have a 3 year old son named Connor and I’m soon to be a Dad again. I was in a few bands when I was younger. I’ve written since I was in the 8th grade. When I was in the 5th grade, I walked the length of the gymnasium floor on my hands.
