Pharmacy Technician Training Program
This course is designed to prepare individuals who want to enter the pharmacy field in hospitals, home infusion pharmacies or retail pharmacies under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. When you complete this course you may register to take the pharmacy technician certification exam to become a Certified Pharmacy Technician. Key topics are: medical terminology, reading and interpreting prescriptions; generic and brand names for drugs; dosage calculations and dose conversions; dispensing of prescriptions, unit doses and inventory control. Basic math assessment required for admission to the program. Assessment can be completed between 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Hoover Campus (no appointment necessary, but preferred)
Upon successful completion of math assessment, registration can be completed here or picked up at the Hoover Campus. Print the registration form, complete with payment and returned to Stark State College.
