Welcome to the Home Page

of the Beta Gamma Epsilon Chapter of

Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society.

Welcome to Stark State College's home page of the Beta Gamma Epsilon Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa! Our chapter was chartered on January 21, 1996, and since that time has inducted almost 2300 members. Beginning with its inception in 1918, Phi Theta Kappa has gained a worldwide membership approaching 3 million and 1350 chapters. Since 2004, our chapter has achieved its 5-star status and has been awarded numerous chapter/individual awards Regionally and/or Internationally. In 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2014 Beta Gamma Epsilon was named a Top 100 Chapter and in 2009 placed 3rd Finalist for Most Distinguished Chapter in the nation and a Top 10% Chapter in 2014!! All of this could not have been done without the support and dedication of the officer teams, the members, the alumni, and the Stark State College campus community. Take a few moments to check out our Chapter's website and find out more about our terrific society. To learn more about Phi Theta Kappa and its history, visit www.ptk.org.

Service to the Community
The Beta Gamma Epsilon chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, is proud to support Canton, OH causes such as, The New Beginnings Transitional Housing, the American Cancer Society, Aultman Blood Center, Habitat for Humanity, and the many walks for cures. We are also proud of the stuffed animal drive that we employ annually for "Make a Difference Day" to support the area's safety forces. Several thousand stuffed animals have been collected through the generosity of our students here at Stark State College. These toys give comfort to children in times of stress while they are being cared for by police and fire department personnel.
In addition, past support has been given to The Zone, an organization that helped to supply wigs for cancer patients, The Arthritis Foundation, The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Akron Children's Burn Center, and Keep America Beautiful.
