A Note from the President
Hello everyone, I am your newly elected President of Beta Gamma Epsilon. I would like to start by recognizing the exceptional job that last year's officer team did in meeting their chapter goals. The leadership of Terri Williamson, Jina Clay, Chris Monroe, Pam Madden, Dave Sigmund, and Stephanie Wilkerson contributes to why Beta Gamma Epsilon is ranked within the top 100 chapters of Phi Theta Kappa. I would also like to thank the heart of our chapter, its members. The achievements of last year's chapter set the standard for future years to come, and Beta Gamma Epsilon is planning many events this year. Some of the events include Clean-up Jackson Township Day, Walks for Cures, Project Graduation, Make a Difference Day, and many more to come. Along with the events, there will be a Chapter Officer Academy (which is for chapter officers only) , Mini-Honors Institute (everyone welcome), Leadership Conference (everyone welcome), and the Awards Convention - which is being held at Stark State College next year. The Phi Theta Kappa International Convention will be held in Philadelphia, PA, next year and everyone is encouraged to attend. This will be an exciting year to be an active member, and the chapter will need many volunteers to ensure that the Awards Conference is a success. If your not an active member, I encourage you to attend our meetings and see what the chapter has planned in the near future. I also challenge everyone to help recruit students who qualify for Phi Theta Kappa, and encourage them to join our organization so we can reach our goal of pinnacle platinum. I want every member of Phi Theta Kappa to know I am always available to assist in any way possible and can be reached at: cmonroe0121@starkstate.net. Please feel free to e-mail me at any time. In closing, I would like to congratulate our own Dave Sigmund for being selected to lead the Ohio Region of Phi Theta Kappa, and for his Distinguished Regional Officer Award - which he received in Nashville. Way to go, Dave!
