Student Application for Disability Support Services
Stark State College provides
assistance to students with disabilities in order to maximize educational
opportunities and individual potential. The disability support services
coordinator assists students with disabilities by providing academic support
services; admissions procedures; financial aid information; and academic,
personal and career counseling.
The campus includes many
accessible features, such as adapted restrooms, electric doors, handicapped
parking (by permit) and Braille tactual room signs. The College's disability
support services coordinator, Kathy
Bernstein, coordinates various services with academic and
non-academic offices and serves as a liaison between the College community
and state/local agencies.
Students must inform
disability
support services of their need for accommodations prior to
the start of their coursework. Students must provide documentation of their
disability, test reports and school records to help the disability support
services coordinator provide appropriate academic accommodations and support
services. A pre-admission interview prior to applying to the College is
suggested.
Please call the Office of
Admissions/Student Services at 330-966-5451 (voice or TDD) for information
or to schedule an interview. |
