Stark State College features exhibit celebrating diversity

Art Exhibit(North Canton, OH –Feb. 25, 2014) – A traveling art exhibit celebrating the positive influence diversity brings to our lives is showing in the Student Center at Stark State College through March 21.

Judge Dixie Park to share her story as first woman elected probate judge in Stark County

Judge Dixie ParkJudge Dixie Park, the first woman elected judge of the probate division of the Stark County Court of Common Pleas, will share her journey on Monday, March 3 at 10 a.m. in Room M101.

Judge Park, an Alliance resident, graduated from Mount de Chantal Academy, received a bachelor’s degree in integrated life sciences from Kent State University, and earned a juris doctorate from the University of Akron School of Law.

Stark State College receives vehicle donations from GM

GM donates vehicles(North Canton, OH – Feb. 20, 2014) – Stark State College recently received new additions to its training facility: eight late-model vehicles from General Motors. The Chevrolet Silverado, Malibu hybrid and Camaro convertible; Cadillac CTS-V and SXR; and Buick Enclave and Regal are being used in classes to help train skilled technicians critical for the automotive industry.

Stark State seeks nominees for 2014 Alumni Hall of Fame

(North Canton, OH – Feb. 7, 2014) – The Stark State College Alumni Advisory Council is seeking nominations for the 2014 Stark State Alumni Hall of Fame. Candidates must have an associate degree from Stark State and are selected based on their professional and personal achievements and service to the community.
