Student found Stark State accessible, affordable and transferable

Patrick SmarandaStark State has seemed as comfortable as a second home, Patrick Smaranda says, one that’s given him a solid foundation for moving on for a bachelor’s degree.

Born in Romania and adopted at age 2, Patrick graduated from Jackson High in 2007. Although recruited to play volleyball at a Division III school, he chose Stark State instead.

Stark State College hosts mental health and wellness series

(North Canton, OH – March 6, 2014) – Positive Steps, a mental health and wellness series hosted by Stark State College, will continue with a presentation on March 19 at 3 p.m. on effective stress management by Dr. Bryan Gerber, assistant professor of psychology at Stark State. He will share the system of Tai Sabaki, a type of Japanese martial arts body management.

Culinary program savors success

Dennis DaytonStark State culinary arts student Dennis Dayton recently competed in an American Culinary Federation-sanctioned cooking competition at the Nestle test kitchens in Solon. Dennis finished just one point shy of medaling in the student category in the hot food division.
