Stark State announces president’s and dean’s lists spring 2014


(North Canton, OH – June 26, 2014) – Stark State College has announced the spring 2014 president’s list and dean’s list.

To be eligible for the president’s list, students must earn a 4.0 GPA during the semester. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must earn a 3.5 GPA for the semester.

Full-time students are those who have completed 12 or more credit hours during the semester while part-time students are those who have earned at least six but fewer than 12 credit hours for the semester.

Stark State College student earns medical assisting scholarship


Patrick Holcomb(North Canton, OH – June 9, 2014) – Patrick Holcomb, a Stark State College medical assisting student, recently was awarded the Mary Buckley Scholarship.

Holcomb, a Stow resident, received the $1,000 award at the recent Ohio State Society of Medical Assistants (OSSMA) state conference in Boardman.


Stark State College sets law enforcement academy information session


(North Canton, OH – June 5, 2014) – Stark State College’s law enforcement academy will hold an information session at 4 p.m. on June 22. The meeting will cover how to apply for the academy, deadlines for submitting applications, and details of the application process.

The law enforcement academy is an intense program that requires dedication, physical fitness, no felony or domestic violence convictions and no current serious mental health issues.
