Washington, DC – July 21, 2015 – Stark State College has been selected to join the second wave of the American Council on Education’s (ACE) alternative credit consortium.
Stark State and the other 14 institutions selected from across the country slated to become members of the consortium have demonstrated a strong commitment to access and attainment, particularly in the area of serving non-traditional students.
(North Canton, OH – July 20, 2015) – Stark State College is making it easier for prospective students to get enrollment done in a day.
The new Express Enrollment Days set for Aug. 1, 8 and 15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. will allow students to talk to admissions counselors, get financial aid advice, take admission tests and enjoy refreshments (admission tests must be started by 11 a.m.).
Students need to bring high school (and, if applicable, college) transcripts along with their 2014 income tax return (and parents’ return if a dependent).
As director of home care, hospice and palliative care of Akron General’s Visiting Nurse Service, Tracey Nauer embodies care, compassion and professionalism. It’s a trio of traits instilled in her, she said, in Stark State College’s nursing program.

That’s the advice Jason Ewing has for those who don’t quite know which path to take. Although it took him a while and a few changes in major to discover his love for the sciences, Jason completed a prestigious internship at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) and now has his sights set on a career in cancer research.

Two sessions will be held at the site at 1725 S. Arch Ave. Doors will be open from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. and again from 5-8 p.m.
Tours, refreshments and advising will be offered.
(North Canton, OH – July 7, 2015) – As part of “EveryBody Deserves a Massage Week,” Stark State College’s Massage Therapy Clinic will offer free chair massages on July 16.
The event, which also will include drawings for gift certificates and refreshments for purchase, will be held from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. in the Stark State College Massage Therapy Clinic in the Health Sciences Building at 6200 Frank Ave. NW in Jackson Township (enter off Mega Street to the parking lot on the right).
