Stark State College announces expansion of Summit County initiatives


(Akron, Ohio – August 31, 2015) – Stark State College, Akron Children’s Hospital and the City of Akron announce a partnership to expand educational and training outreach to Akron/Summit residents.

Stark State will hold a press conference on Tuesday, September 1 at 1 p.m. at the Austen BioInnovation Institute in Akron (ABIA) to discuss current and future programs focused on preparing Akron residents for high-demand careers in health occupations.


Stark State College Institute of Management Accountants student chapter continues tradition of national awards


(North Canton, OH – Aug. 25, 2015) – The Stark State College student chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) has received two national awards.

Stark State’s chapter earned the 2015 IMA Award of Excellence as an Outstanding Student Chapter and also won the award for Outstanding Strategic Plan.

Selected from a distinguished group of colleges and universities, the chapter receives an Outstanding Student Chapter trophy along with $1,000 in cash awards and another $500 for the Outstanding Strategic Plan.


Stark State College announces summer 2015 president’s list and dean’s list


(North Canton, OH – Aug. 24, 2015) – Stark State College has announced the summer 2015 president’s list and dean’s list.

Full-time students eligible for the summer president’s list must complete six or more credit hours and earn a GPA of 4.0 during that semester. To be eligible for the summer dean’s list, students must complete six or more credit hours and earn at least a 3.5 GPA for that semester.

Stark State College offers express enrollment in Alliance


(North Canton, OH – Aug. 5, 2015) – Stark State College is making it easier for prospective students in Alliance to get enrollment done in a day.

The new Express Enrollment Day set for Aug. 10 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. will allow students to talk to admissions counselors, get financial aid advice, take admission tests and enjoy refreshments.

Students need to bring high school (and, if applicable, college) transcripts along with their 2014 income tax return (and parents’ return if a dependent).
