Class B CDL Driver Training

Stark State College’s Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) training program will provide a minimum of 80 hours of Class B training consistent with the instruction required by administrative code 4501-7-11. Students will have access to a 6 speed manual transmission dump truck.

Training includes a minimum of 12 hours of classroom instruction and 28 hours behind-the-wheel. Classroom and Range instruction activities will be conducted at 2270 Picton Pkwy, Akron, OH 44312. Over-the-road training will be conducted on roads and highways within a 150-mile radius of Akron, Ohio.

Tuition for the CDL Class B training program is $2,500 which includes textbooks and CDL examination fees (including truck rental) for up to two (2) attempts. Students are responsible for costs associated with DOT physical, drug screening, and temporary permits.

Prospective students are responsible for obtaining and providing satisfactory results of U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) compliant physical and drug screening. Seats in class are not guaranteed until the drug screening is completed.

Stark State does not guarantee a student will receive a CDL or employment at the completion of training. After course completion, there may be additional charges for additional training. All additional training will be done on a seat available basis.
