Artwork of Noah DiRuzza featured at Stark State College during January and February

Quondam Portholes

(North Canton, OH – Jan. 14, 2019) – Abstractions by painter and sculptor Noah DiRuzza will be featured in a showing Jan. 22 – Feb. 22 in the Stark State College gallery on the second floor of the Student Center.

The show, “Footprints” explores the adverse effects of pollution and its accompanying negative emotions for humankind. DiRuzza, an avid outdoorsman, says his art aims to expose the neglect and malevolence people have toward the very planet they inhabit.

The North Canton resident, who holds a bachelor’s degree in art from Kent State University, uses a hybrid of materials and techniques in his art, manipulating found materials “to say what Earth cannot.”

The public is invited to attend a reception for the artist from 6-7:30 p.m. Feb. 13 in S201 of the Student Center. Stark State is located at 6200 Frank Ave. NW in North Canton.

All art is available for purchase with 25 percent of the proceeds going to the College’s aesthetics fund for the purchase of artwork for the campus.

The gallery is open to the public from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday. For additional information about the show, call 330-494-6170, ext. 4733 or email
