Gregory Boudreaux has been named chief of campus security at Stark State College, effective Dec. 3.
Most recently a lieutenant with the Canton Police Department serving as training bureau commander, Boudreaux also was patrol division commander, a sergeant and a patrol officer in the Canton department. His experience covers management, supervision, detective bureau, vice, internal affairs and other aspects of police work.
He also served as a training officer for Walsh University campus police and was that department’s assistant chief of campus police for more than 20 years after co-founding the department.
Boudreaux graduated from the Ohio Highway Patrol Academy in 1986 and has completed numerous supervisory and management courses.
The recipient of many commendations and recognitions during his 32-year law enforcement career, he was named Canton’s Police Officer of the Year in 1992 and received Coming Together Stark County’s 2016 Diversity Initiative Award.
Boudreaux takes the reins of Stark State’s department from Mark Weldon, a former Massillon City chief of police who this fall retired as the head of Stark State’s security forces.
