Stark State College hosts Veterans Day celebration


(North Canton, OH – Nov. 4, 2015) – Stark State College will host a Veterans Day celebration honoring all student, faculty, staff and community veterans Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. The free event is open to the public and will be held in room M100 of the College’s Business and Entrepreneurial Center at 6200 Frank Ave. NW in Jackson Township.

The program will feature a color guard, recognition of veterans, patriotic songs performed by the Stark State faculty and staff chorale and a message from Stark State College Campus Security Officer Dan Altieri, a Bronze Star U.S. Marine Corps veteran. In 2005, Altieri served as the 1st Sgt. of Lima Company, 3rd Battalion, 25th Marines, 4th Marine Division. At the time of their deployment, the Columbus-based Marine Reserve unit was the heaviest engaged U.S. Marine Corps infantry unit since the Vietnam War.
