Stark State College sets early Veterans Day celebration

Stark State College will kick off veterans’ honors a day early this month, with a Veterans Day celebration and recognition set for noon on Nov. 10 in Room M100 on the main campus at 6200 Frank Ave. NW in Jackson Township.

Community members, especially veterans, are welcome to attend the noon ceremony. Participants include the Green High School ROTC, the Stark State Chorale and featured speaker Jaxon Teig, a Stark State student veteran.

Hot dogs, chili, and other refreshments will be served following the program.

Also, from 9 – 11:30 a.m., the Stark County Recorder’s Office will be issuing veteran IDs for $1. Applicants should bring:

  • their DD214
  • a state-issued ID (photo ID preferred but not required)
  • driver’s license
  • Social Security card
  • birth certificate
  • concealed carry license
  • another military ID
