Stark State College student wins countywide Inter-Campus Clash

(North Canton, OH – May 10, 2019) –  For the third year running, a Stark State College student took first place in the Inter-Campus Clash, a public speaking competition among Stark County colleges.

Ciera Bickerstaff, a Stark State human resources/business major, won the 2019 trophy with her speech, “Forgiveness vs. Unforgiveness.” She is a full-time student at Stark State College Akron, as well as a wife and mother.

Bickerstaff received a $300 gift card, and finalists from University of Mount Union and Kent State University at Stark each received $100 gift cards. Stark State again will host the trophy for the academic year. Last year’s winner was Stark State’s Taylor Lee, while Courtney Tyler, another Stark State student, won the competition’s inaugural year.

Stark State College to host Adult Student Nights in May

(North Canton, OH – April 24, 2019) –  Adults who’ve been away from school are invited to attend Stark State College’s Adult Student Night, set for May 8 at SSC Akron at 360 Perkins St. or May 14 on main campus at 6200 Frank Ave. in North Canton. Both events run from 6-7:30 p.m.
