Stark State College’s new practical nursing program is accepting applications for spring semester, after proving so popular that fall enrollment already is at capacity.
The program consists of two semesters of academic coursework and hands-on learning experiences in the classroom, learning laboratory and clinical settings. Graduates are eligible to sit for the licensed practical nurse state licensing examination.
The program adds to the College’s training for a career pathway from state-tested nurse aide to licensed practical nurse and on to registered nurse in a high-demand career field.
Forty-six students are accepted for each semester for classes offered at Stark State’s 755 White Pond Drive location. The registration deadline is Aug. 24 with classes beginning Aug. 27.
State-tested nurse aide (STNA), phlebotomy, and medical billing and coding programs also are available.
