Pre-engineering

Program overview

Designed with transfer and career relevance in mind, this program helps you move forward with confidence into one of three engineering degree paths: civil engineering, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering.  each providing a seamless pathway to a four-year degree. 

Complete the first two years of an engineering bachelor’s degree at Stark State College at the lowest tuition in the area. Then, transfer to one of our four-year university partners and complete your degree.

Pre-engineering – civil engineering 

This associate of science in pre-engineering – civil engineering degree (ASPECE) is designed for students transferring from Stark State College into The University of Akron’s (UA) Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering (BSCE)*or University of Mount Union’s BSCE.

University of Mount Union  

For overview information, contact the University of Mount Union’s Transfer Student Services Center at 330-829-8752. Contact Mount Union’s engineering department during your first year at Stark State for curricular advising. 

*There is a similar articulation in place between the Stark State’s AAS degree in civil engineering technology and The University of Akron’s BS degree in construction engineering technology.

This associate of science in pre-engineering – electrical engineering degree (ASPEEE) is for students transferring from Stark State into The University of Akron’s bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering (BSEE).*

This associate of science in pre-engineering – mechanical engineering degree (ASPEME) is created for students transferring from Stark State into The University of Akron’s Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering (BSME) or the University of Mount Union’s BSME.
