Our mission is to open doors to relationships and resources that support the success of our students, partners, and communities. Our vision is that all students have access to the resources they need to achieve their academic and career goals.
For more than 40 years, the Foundation has been supporting students in earning high-quality, in-demand degrees through scholarship opportunities as a 501©3 tax-exempt corporation.
The Foundation assists Stark State in accomplishing its mission of positively impacting the life of each student and our communities by providing access to high-quality, relevant, and affordable education.
Changing lives and building futures
Gifts to the Stark State College Foundation directly support students and enhance their experience on campus. Every dollar raised generates opportunities for our students to realize their hopes and dreams – this is the heart of our mission.
Together we can:
- Help students start in-demand careers with less debt.
- Bring financial stability to our students and their families.
- Share the success of our graduates with our community.
Individuals, corporations, foundations, and service organizations can invest in our students through several giving options:
- Scholarships that can be named in recognition of a business, foundation, or individual
- Honor or memorial gifts in the name of a friend or loved one
- Donations of equipment to enhance the classroom or lab experience in a variety of programs
- Name the Stark State College Foundation as a beneficiary in a will, trust, insurance policy, or annuity.
Ways you can help the Foundation
There are many vehicles available that can be used to support the Stark State College Foundation.
Endowed scholarships are lasting tributes that allow a donor to make a charitable gift in perpetuity and help students complete their educational goals for years to come.
- Established one with a minimum of $5,000, in your name, in recognition of a loved one or from multiple donors as a permanent charitable fund.
- You can customize scholarship criteria to reflect your areas of interest.
Annual scholarships can be established with a signed commitment designating your annual contribution. You can customize scholarship criteria to reflect your areas of interest.
Annual gifts can also be designated for projects in specific programs, emergency funding for students or other campus projects and events.

The Spartan Legacy Society is Stark State College Foundation’s new society honoring individuals who choose to safeguard access to education and opportunity by including the Foundation in their estate plans.
Become a member of the Spartan Legacy Society by including the Stark State College Foundation in your long-term plans.
You can make a lasting impact through:
- A bequest in your will or living trust.
- Beneficiary designations on retirement accounts – IRA, 401(k), 403(b).
- Life insurance.
- A charitable gift annuity or charitable remainder trust.
- Other deferred or planned giving arrangements.
Many companies will match an employee’s or their spouse’s charitable donation. This is a wonderful way to double your donation. Check with your employer to determine if they have such a program.
The foundation general fund covers a variety of needs, including scholarships, faculty and staff development, and general operating funds not covered through the College’s budget process.
