Campus Security Office

The Campus Security Office coordinates all security operations on campus. The Security Office consists of the chief of security, three full-time officers, 24 part-time officers, all of whom are active or retired police officers, a coordinator for emergency planning & security, a part-time administrative assistant, and student assistants. Security officers are assigned to work at all times when students or the public are using any College facility. Campus security works closely with township, county and state police agencies.

Message from the Chief of Security

On behalf of the members of the Stark State College Security Department, I want to welcome you to our campus and thank you for your interest in campus safety and security.

I encourage you to browse the safety and security pages on our website and encourage you to review and familiarize yourself with our safety policies, services and parking lot regulations, as well as with the campus locations and grounds.

We’re here to serve the Stark State community with our commitment to providing a safe campus and safe learning environment for all students, employees and guests – it’s our first priority and we are diligent in fulfilling that obligation. The security department is made up of experienced law enforcement officers, many of whom still serve as commissioned law enforcement officers in several local police agencies within the local jurisdiction of our various campuses.

We encourage all members SSC community members to enroll in our free RAVE notification system which provides campus-wide emergency and school closing notifications through phone text and email.

A safe campus requires cooperation and partnership with all stakeholders and you are invited to become a safety partner with us by making us aware of any safety or security concerns.

As the chief of security, I’m available to you should you have safety or security concerns or would like to meet for any other matters related to your student experience.
